Hands-on 3-Day American Accents Fundamentals

NYFA Australia’s short-term workshops are delivered in-person at our purpose-built campus on the Gold Coast. Perfectly designed for working professionals, full-time or part-time students, and can even be an after school learning option.

Students are immersed in hands-on programs in the visual and performing arts designed to teach them creative and technical skills in their chosen field. Workshops are designed to be adapted for a variety of people, with either little or no experience, as well as trained professionals who wish to deepen their craft, or refresh on techniques, or even just to create a new showreel for their professional portfolio!

3-Day American Accents Fundamentals

Expand your skill set and character diversity by learning the fundamentals of a general American Accent, as well as understanding the differences in various dialects. Explore the phonetic notation skills and master the techniques to speak naturally and perform confidently as an American character.

What you’ll learn in this workshop:

• Master vocal inflections and dexterity of a standard American accent
• Learn the fundamentals of a New York accent and a Southern American accent
• Learn how to break down the phonetic elements of American accents
• Use the skills gained to apply to a variety of scripts

Workshop Details:

Location: NYFA Australia Southport Campus, Gold Coast

Program Duration:

• 1 evening per week, for 3 consecutive weeks
• 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm (AEST)

Tuition Fees: $450 (AUD)

A non-refundable application fee of $50 (AUD) and the above tuition fee will be required upon application.
